All it takes is an idea

The pan-African Python community is just getting started!

There are many things that I am grateful for in my life, and many people I can never thank enough.

Ideas

Everything starts with something as simple as a idea. It was a simple idea in someone’s mind that led to PyCon Namibia.  Then it led to PyCon Zimbabwe. Now, it is bringing about PyCon Nigeria, and our Python Africa is part of the same idea too.

Through my journey, I have been able to attend conferences such as PyCon ZA, PyCon UK and PyCon Australia. These conferences have built me and taught me a lot as an organiser, as an educator, a developer and also as a person.

Through other projects such as Django Girls workshops, our Windhoek Computer Day conference, Software Carpentry workshops and PyNam workshops and study groups, I have been able to share my knowledge with my community. And all because someone had an idea and shared it...

Thank you!

Thank you to everyone who has played a role in making all of these African ideas come to fruition.

Thank you for the doors of opportunities that you have opened for my African people.

Thank you all dearly because I was given a simple opportunity to attend a conference and now I live everyday wanting to learn more so that I also give back that opportunity to my fellow African women and men.

And next?

Nothing gives me more energy and more excitement than the imagination of the power of a pan-African Python programming community.

Watch out for Python Africa! It is yet to express the best works of the African talent.
